Template is an installation that combines an artificial environment with a natural environment. The installation centres around one key piece, a video projection, (con)template Heimatlichten, an image of home, (re-)projected, constantly coming and going, fading in and disintegrating again. It is powered by the fake light of a projector and juxtaposed to another image of the same quality in the guise of a glass window positioned in a slightly awkward position just outside of the space. Powered by natural light, the degree of its visibility is uncontrollably determined by the sun. A pew from which to view both brings them together. The viewer will see both from the slightly uncomfortable position of one who is being forced to sit straight and think straight.
