Austrian born Anja Aichinger has studied photography at LCC and received her MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins. She has exhibited in the UK and Austria.

Anja’s work navigates the realm between the real and the unreal.

Through photography she tries to manifest the metaspherical essence behind our perceived reality. Her art raises questions of belonging and longings that linger behind superficial guises. Her images are of a beautiful yet haunted quality.

She creates objects out of discarded or ‘worthless’ materials that are revived by being assembled in a supposedly nonsensical fashion, allowing the viewer to question the concept of an inherent function.
